Circle Coverage
Overview
The circle coverage metric bins the maximum contiguous angular arc detected for each LiDAR's retroreflective circular target. These pre-calibration messages comprise:
- The binned continuous angles of the histogram (bins exist across the range 0 to π in radians, measured in radians rather than degrees)
- The number of total bins
Each of these are organized by LiDAR UUID in the input plex and corresponds to that LiDAR's circular target coverage.
note
As of MetriCal 18.0.0, the circle coverage histogram is still written to the results MCAP for backward compatibility, but it is no longer rendered in the report. The report now summarizes LiDAR circle detections through the per-target Lidar Circle Detection Quality table (DQ-003), which reports planarity RMS and visible-arc statistics instead of a coverage histogram.
